Wathena, KS (June 10, 2021) — Summit Truck Bodies LLC, manufacturer of service and lube truck bodies, announced today the promotion of Chris Walter to plant manager. He is now responsible for all daily operations of the plant, from production and manufacturing, to ensure policies and procedures are followed and the plant consistently runs efficiently and safely.

Mr. Walter has been with Summit since 2007 and quickly rose to production manager, a role that he has held since 2012. In his position as Production Manager Chris has been instrumental in improving manufacturing and production efficiency by standardizing and optimizing processes and products. He has worked to enhance quality control, encourage engineering and design innovation while improving safety. Solving problems and planning with insight; helping the others that work here, and listening to others’ ideas, are what has made his work rewarding, said Chris. “ It’s amazing to see how far we have come as a company and industry just in the past 14 years. I do not doubt that more is on the horizon and can’t wait to see what lies ahead. We have achieved our level of success because of everyone’s hard work, willingness to change, and teamwork. I know my years at Summit would not have been what they have been without the support of all the folks here at the plant, along with my wife, Carla. Truth be told, she is the one that encouraged me to apply at Summit those 14 years ago, and I’m glad I listened.”
