We’re excited to introduce Rick Ball, the new Service Manager at Summit Truck Bodies! With a wealth of industry experience and a customer-first approach, Rick is ready to lead our service team to new heights while honoring the traditions that have made Summit an industry leader. His journey, skills, and dedication to exceptional service make him a fantastic addition to our team, and we’re thrilled to see the positive impact his leadership is already bringing.
Meet Rick Ball, A Leader with a Passion for Service and Community
Rick’s journey to becoming Summit’s Service Manager is impressive and inspiring. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in customer service, he has accumulated over 300 certifications in service repair and management. From starting as a service technician to advancing into management, Rick has developed a deep understanding of the industry from all angles. This comprehensive experience equips him to lead with empathy, insight, and an unwavering commitment to quality, all of which will serve Summit’s customers well.
Outside of work, Rick dedicates his time to family, friends, and community engagement. He has a passion for cooking, especially smoking meats and preparing his favorite side dishes, which he enjoys sharing with those close to him. This love of bringing people together reflects his appreciation for quality and connection, which are the values he brings to his role at Summit.
Supporting the Next Generation
Beyond his responsibilities at Summit, Rick is committed to supporting the future of the industry through his role as an advisory board member at Hillyard Technical Center. He helps oversee grant applications, funding allocation, and curriculum development for automotive, diesel, collision, and manufacturing programs. This year is particularly exciting as Hillyard expands its facilities and adds new programs in Diesel and Manufacturing. Rick’s guidance is invaluable in shaping educational resources that meet industry standards. His involvement underscores his dedication to developing a skilled workforce, which benefits both Summit and the industry.
Building on a Strong Foundation: Taking Over from Duston Hansen
Rick takes on the role of Service Manager following the tenure of Duston Hansen, who recently transitioned to a new position as a Sales Representative covering the southeastern U.S. Duston’s decade-long commitment to customer satisfaction and reliability set a high standard, one that Rick is ready to uphold and further develop. Rick, who has stepped into this leadership role, brings fresh ideas and a strong focus on enhancing the service experience while maintaining the values that have earned Summit its reputation for excellence.
As Duston begins working with our valued customers across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, he carries forward the legacy of Dennis Weiler, a longtime leader at Summit, preparing for his retirement. This smooth transition marks an exciting chapter for Summit, as Rick and Duston both bring their dedication and expertise to their new roles, strengthening Summit’s commitment to its customers.
Looking Ahead: Rick’s Vision for Summit Service
Rick’s vision for Summit Truck Bodies Service is ambitious and customer-focused. He aims to further establish Summit as the industry’s leading name in customer support, combining his technical expertise with outstanding customer care. With his extensive background in service and dedication to industry advancement, Rick’s leadership promises to make Summit an even better resource for our customers, both in service and the broader community.

We’re thrilled to welcome Rick to the Summit Truck Bodies family, and we’re confident that his leadership will bring renewed excellence to our service team. His customer-first approach, technical expertise, and commitment to quality embody the values that have made Summit a trusted industry name.
