Summit Truck Bodies and Summit Truck Equipment are proud to welcome Mark Fortenberry to the team as Territory Sales Representative, covering Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
As Summit’s Southeast service truck sales representative, Mark brings more than 30 years of experience in the agriculture industry, along with a background that started in the field and continues to shape how he works with customers today.
He began his career as a field service technician with Ag Chem Equipment Company, spending nine years working out of a service truck supporting equipment in real-world conditions. That hands-on experience gives him a strong understanding of what technicians and operators need from their equipment every day.
From there, Mark transitioned into equipment sales, working with French Implement, a John Deere dealership, and later with Alliance Ag Equipment and Allegiance Ag and Turf. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with customers operating application equipment, tractors, combines, and service trucks, building a deep understanding of the industries he serves.
Mark was introduced to Summit through a recruitment ad and quickly saw an opportunity to take on a new challenge. After researching the company and its equipment, he knew it was a direction he wanted to pursue.
“I enjoy listening to customers, understanding what they need, and helping them find the right solution,” Mark said. “When a customer has a problem and you can help solve it, that’s the most rewarding part of the job.”
Now based in Louisiana, Mark is focused on building strong relationships across his territory by earning trust and staying accessible. As a Southeast service truck sales representative, his approach is straightforward. Communicate clearly, follow through, and make sure the customer gets what they need.
Customers working with Mark can expect reliability, responsiveness, and someone who understands how equipment performs in the field.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, working in the yard and garden, and staying active with golf, fishing, hunting, and riding ATVs. On the weekends, you’ll likely find him grilling and watching college football, cheering on the LSU Tigers.
As he gets started in his role, Mark is focused on learning Summit’s equipment, connecting with existing customers, building new relationships, and getting trucks and bodies into the field. If you’re looking for a Southeast service truck sales representative, Mark is ready to help.
