Summit Truck Bodies Celebrates Groundbreaking of Major Production Facility Expansion

Wathena, Kan. – August 15, 2024 –—Summit Truck Bodies (STB) celebrated a significant milestone in its growth journey with a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, August 15th, to expand its production facility. The event marks the beginning of a new chapter for the company, solidifying its position as a leader in the service and lube truck body industry.

Key stakeholders attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including Summit Truck Bodies management, representatives from the Kansas Department of Commerce, Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, Wathena City Council members, and the construction companies overseeing the project.

Chris Walter, STB Plant Manager, opened the ceremony with remarks about the expansion project’s importance and potential impact on the company and the community. Walter also introduced other notable speakers, including Ernie Beaudet from the Kansas Department of Commerce, Paul Reynolds, Reynolds Construction Management (RCM) owner, and Bob Ryser, representing the City of Wathena.

In a symbolic gesture, eleven golden shovels turned the dirt, signifying the commencement of construction. Those participating in the groundbreaking ceremony pictured left to right included:
