Summit Truck Bodies has launched a new lightweight (LW) drawer system comprising a drawer pack and bolt bin design. The system caters to the demand for a lightweight drawer system for smaller work trucks and commercial van upfits.
The drawer pack is constructed from 14-gauge aluminum, making it 36% lighter than their standard drawer packs. Each drawer can hold up to 100 lbs and comes with front-to-back dividers. The push-to-open locking drawer slides simplify one-handed operation, while the lever disconnect allows easy drawer removal. This system’s lightweight and compact design increases the total width by 1.25” and depth by 1”. The drawer packs come with an aluminum finish, but you can powder-coat or paint them to match your brand colors.
The new bolt bin is also made of 14 gauge aluminum and has lockable doors to secure the bin boxes. The black injection-molded polypropylene bin boxes are durable, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean. Compared to our standard bolt bin of the same size, there is a weight savings of 36 lbs and a 4% increase in storage space. Options for the bin boxes include dividers, covers, and labels. You can also have the doors of the bolt bin painted to match your brand colors.
You can see the LW drawer systems will be on display at The Utility Expo this fall in Louisville, Kentucky. The expo is at The Kentucky Expo Center from September 26-28th, 2023. The Summit Booth is inside the North Hall, booth # N1820.
